Meet Audu Maikori Esq

Audu Maikori is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur and lawyer. He was born in Kaduna, Nigeria and attended the prestigious King’s College Lagos. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2001 and cut his teeth in the legal profession having worked at several firms including Chief Afe Babalola SAN & Co, Leasing Company of Nigeria (a subsidiary of Bank of Industry), Abuja Markets Management Limited and was Senior Legal consultant with CPCS Transcom International, a Canadian infrastructure firm where he worked on the privatization of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria(PHCN), Nigerian Ports Authority(NPA), Abuja Rail Mass Transit and the Lagos Rail Mass Transit project.
He is better known as the co-founder of Chocolate City Group a media /entertainment company which is comprised of Chocolate City Distribution, Chocolate City Media, Chocolate City Kenya, CCX ( food & live event space) and Chocolate City Music one of the biggest record labels in Africa and which is home to some of Africa’s most artistes including Femi Kuti, M.I, ,Koker, Dice Ailes, Yung El ,Qritical etc.
In December 2011, Chocolate City Group was named the winner at the prestigious Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya, having been selected from over 3,300 applicants from 48 African countries to clinch the coveted prize.
Audu sits on several boards including Copyright Society of Nigeria, (COSON), Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce, Nigerian Economic Summit Group(NESG) and is a fellow of the Nigerian Leadership Institute.

He is a passionate advocate for social justice and entrepreneurship as the key for economic empowerment.

He has served on various entrepreneurial judging panels including – Microsoft’s Passion to Empire, Etisalat Prize for Innovation, She Leads Africa, Chivas The Venture Competition and is currently a judge on the MIT inclusive innovation global competition.
He is an alumnus of the University of Jos, Pan African University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of management respectively.
