Amen Ra Mashariki currently holds the position of Director of Data Strategies at the Bezos Earth Fund, focusing on leveraging data to address environmental justice issues.
Prior to this role, he served as the Global Director of the AI Lab at the World Resources Institute.
He also held the position of Head of Machine Learning at Urbint, and served as adjunct faculty at NYU’s Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP), as well as a Fellow at the Harvard Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation.
Notably, Dr. Mashariki was the inaugural Chief Analytics Officer for the City of New York during the de Blasio administration, where he also directed the Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics.
Additionally, he served as a White House Fellow and held the position of Chief Technology Officer for the Office of Personnel Management in the Obama Administration.
Amen Ra Mashariki earned his Doctorate in Engineering from Morgan State University, and holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science from Howard University and Lincoln University, respectively.
