Dr. Anne-Marie Imafidon is the Founder, STEMettes.

She is an MBE, a remarkable prodigy, showcasing exceptional talent from a young age. At just 11 years old, she made history as the youngest girl ever to pass A-level computing, a feat that underscored her extraordinary intellect. By the age of 20, she had earned her Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the prestigious University of Oxford.

Anne-Marie’s illustrious career includes notable positions at renowned organizations such as Goldman Sachs, Hewlett-Packard, and Deutsche Bank.

Her remarkable contributions to the fields of mathematics and technology have earned her numerous accolades, including multiple Honorary Doctorates from esteemed institutions such as Open University, Glasgow Caledonian University, Kent University, Bristol University, Coventry University, Royal Holloway, University of London, and Bath University. Additionally, she holds an Honorary Fellowship at Keble College, Oxford.

In addition to her academic and professional achievements, Anne-Marie has made significant contributions to various organizations and councils.

She chairs the UD Music Foundation, serves on the Council of Research England, and notably, she served as the President of the British Science Association from 2022 to 2023. Her versatility extends to the realm of television, where she took on the role of temporary Arithmetician on Channel 4’s long-running gameshow Countdown in 2021.

In 2024, Anne-Marie assumed the esteemed role of Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University, further solidifying her influence and impact in the academic sphere. However, it is her dedication to inspiring and promoting the next generation of young women in STEMettes fields that truly sets her apart.

As a Co-founder of Stemettes, an award-winning social initiative, she has touched the lives of over 65,000 young people across Europe, empowering them to pursue careers in science and technology.

Anne-Marie’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in the STEM sectors is further highlighted by her book release in 2022, titled, ‘She’s in CTRL’. This guidebook serves as a beacon for women seeking to reclaim their space in the tech industry, offering invaluable insights and guidance.
