Dr.Yetunde A Omede

Yetunde A. Odugbesan-Omede, Ph.D., is a Professor of Global Affairs and Political Science. She teaches courses on Comparative Politics, Global Politics, African Politics, Imperialism, American Foreign Policy, and Women in Comparative Political Development.

In addition to being a Professor, she is a policy advisor, author, entrepreneur, global speaker, and philanthropist. She is a first-generation Nigerian-American. Born and raised in the United States, Dr. Yetunde has utilized her unique disposition to empower, encourage, and inspire young people to stand out, be bold and be proud of their unique backgrounds.

Her work has reached South Africa and Nigeria where she has met and worked with governmental officials and heads of state to improve policies and initiatives that empower the youth population. She has held seminars in Nigeria on empowering young women to lead and has been hosted by the former 1st of Nigeria Dame Patience Jonathon and former 1st Lady of Lagos State Hon. Abimbola Fashola, former Minister for Women Affairs of Nigeria, Hon. Iyum Josephine.

Dr. Yetunde is a contributor for the Guardian Newspaper where she writes articles in the Law, Politics, and Leadership sections of The Guardian Newspaper. She also has her own column with the Guardian Newspaper titled Young Woman’s Guide where writes topics on women empowerment and life skills. Dr. Yetunde is the author of the book, Young Woman’s Guide which provides personal and leadership advice for young women from all backgrounds. Dr. Yetunde has an online web TV show titled Bridging The Gap where she provides advice, life lessons, and empowerment tips to help people bridge the gap between who they are and who they want to become.
