Ms. Emma Kawawa is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tanzania Women CEOs Roundtable (TWCR), a platform dedicated to fostering collaboration among women leaders in business.
She is a prominent figure in Tanzania, renowned for her leadership and advocacy in women’s empowerment and business development.
In addition to leading Entango Investments Limited, Ms. Kawawa holds key positions such as Chairperson of Tanzania Women Empowerment and Innovations and Vice Chairperson of Women Arise of Africa. She also serves as the Country Director of New Faces New Voices (Graca Machel Trust Network) and is actively involved with Leaders Without Borders, African Business Roundtable, and the Great Lakes Women Entrepreneurs Network.
An accomplished entrepreneur and speaker, Ms. Kawawa is recognized for her expertise in Transformational Leadership and her advocacy for Youth and Women Economic Empowerment.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and International Relations, complemented by extensive training in marketing, diplomacy, and business management. With over 15 years of experience in both public and private management, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her roles and initiatives.
Ms. Kawawa has contributed her leadership to various boards, including the Tanzania Investments Centre, Gs1 Board, Mtwara Girls Secondary School, and Ligula Referral Hospital. Currently, she serves on the boards of Ladies in Business Magazine, Save the Society, African Institute of Small-Scale Mining, and Pamoja Gemstone Miners.
Passionate about women’s empowerment, she advocates for inclusive leadership in private sector development across Africa. She is a member of several influential organizations including the East African Women in Business Platform, Tanzania Chamber of Commerce Agriculture, Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce, and the East Africa Business Council.
Her dedication and contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards such as the East African Women Leader Award in 2019, and she continues to be honored for her achievements, including the SWEEP and Global She Awards in 2022.
