William Adams, widely known by his stage name will.i.am, is a multifaceted American artist renowned as a rapper, singer, DJ, record producer, entrepreneur, actor, and futurist.
His prominence stems from his role as the frontman of the iconic musical ensemble, Black Eyed Peas, which he co-founded in 1995.
The group’s trajectory soared notably during the 2000s with the release of several acclaimed studio albums, including Elephunk, Monkey Business, The E.N.D., and The Beginning. Throughout, Adams has remained a constant presence as the lead vocalist, sharing the spotlight with Fergie, who joined the group in 2002 and later departed following The Beginning.
In his solo endeavors, Adams initially encountered mixed commercial reception with his debut albums, Lost Change and Must B 21, released by Atlantic Records. However, the latter featured the track “Go!”, which gained prominence as the theme music for NBA Live 2005 and Madden NFL 2005.
His third solo venture, Songs About Girls, marked his debut entry on the Billboard 200 chart, featuring the moderately successful single “I Got It From My Mama.” Adams’ fourth album, #willpower, attained a notable position at number nine on the chart, buoyed by hits like “Scream & Shout” and “#thatPOWER,” further solidifying his solo career trajectory.
