Hon. Dapo Okubadejo

Dapo Okubadejo currently serves as the Commissioner for Finance in the Ogun State Government and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor.

Previously, he was a Partner and Africa Head of Deal Advisory & Private Equity at KPMG, where he provided strategic counsel to numerous local and international investors across Africa. His expertise encompassed Corporate Finance, M&A, Infrastructure & Project Finance Advisory, Investments Advisory, and Business Transformation.

Beginning his career at Arthur Andersen in 1992, Dapo spent over a decade rising to the role of Senior Manager. During this time, he consulted for more than 40 companies in sectors such as oil & gas, consumer goods, and financial services.

He joined KPMG in 2006 as an Equity Partner, advancing to Head of Deal Advisory & Private Equity for West Africa in 2009 and subsequently for Africa in 2012. In 2017, he was elected to the KPMG Nigeria Policy Board.

Dapo is widely recognized as an authority on the African business and investment landscape, frequently invited as a speaker and resource person at prestigious international events including the World Economic Forum. He has authored numerous articles on investment opportunities in Nigeria and Africa and has delivered lectures on these topics.

His academic achievements include a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (1990) and a Master of Finance degree in International Finance with Distinction (2003) as a UK FCO Chevening Scholar.

He is a USA-Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria since 2006, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. Dapo has completed executive leadership programs at INSEAD, France, Lagos Business School, Gordon Institute of Business Studies, South Africa, London Business School, and Harvard Business School, where he attended various courses in leadership and management development.
