Lola Aworanti Ekugo

Lola Aworanti-Ekugo is a seasoned technology and innovation expert, boasting nearly two decades of global industry experience.

Renowned for her transformative leadership, she has played instrumental roles in guiding organizations towards an innovative and sustainable future through the strategic application of technology.

Lola’s distinguished career has seen her hold key positions across Europe and Africa, including Chief Digital Officer at FBNQuest, as well as similar roles at Commerzbank, BNP Paribas, Union Bank Nigeria, and First Bank Nigeria.

Education-wise, Lola holds a BSc in Business Information Systems with First Class Honours and an MBA from Imperial College Business School, London.

Her stellar achievements have earned her numerous accolades, such as the Emerging Alumni Leader Award 2024 from Imperial College London, the Women in ICT Award at the Women Tech Network Global Awards 2022, and inclusion in the Top 40 CEOs under 40 in Africa by the Young Entrepreneurs Summit in 2022.

Beyond her corporate endeavors, Lola is a multifaceted individual. She is the acclaimed author of the fiction novel “Lagos to London,” which serves as a source of inspiration for youth worldwide, encouraging them to pursue excellence regardless of their circumstances.

She actively contributes her expertise to various boards, including Trademark Africa (TMA) and Southwest Innovation and Technology (SWIT).

She is also deeply involved in initiatives aimed at fostering digital skills among Osun youths, serving on the Innovation and Tech committee of Osun State Development Association.

A staunch advocate for diversity and inclusion, Lola founded the Closet of Opportunities (COP) initiative, which empowers young women at the early stages of their careers.

She further extends her impact through mentorship roles at WIMBIZ and She Leads Africa. Beyond her professional commitments, Lola also enjoys sports and serves as the Vice Captain for Squash at Ikoyi Club, Nigeria.
