Meet Chika Nwobi

Chika Nwobi is a serial entrepreneur focused on building successful mobile and internet-related companies in Africa.

Through a venture development firm, ‘Level5Lab’ which he founded three years ago, Chika has invested in starting Jobberman.com – West Africa’s most popular job’s portal and Cheki.com.ng- Nigeria’s leading cars/autos website. Chika has been able to guide these two companies to attract significant rounds of investment from international private equity firms. Chika is also co-founder of Kamdora.com a fast growing e-commerce fashion retail business in Nigeria.

Before L5Lab, Chika was Group CEO of MTech PLC, which he founded when he was 22 years old. Chika led MTech to become the leading mobile content company in Africa with operations in Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. At MTech, Chika also consulted for Ford Foundation and IFC (World Bank) on mobile money implementation frameworks for Nigeria.

Chika is in the Joint Executive MBA program of INSEAD University and Tsinghua University Beijing, China. He graduated as an Honors scholar from East Tennessee State University, USA with a BA in Economics and a B.Sc. in Computer Science.

Chika was part of the Nigeria 2025 Scenarios Team and was a nominee for the Future Awards Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Person of The Year, 2007. He has served as a Mentor for Fate Foundation Aspiring Entrepreneurs Program and as a judge for LEAP Africa’s Youth Leadership Awards and the Federal Government YOUWIN business plan competition. He has also been a panelist at several events including the 2011 Nigerian Economic Summit Group conference, Wharton Business School Africa conference and GSM Africa conference in South Africa.
