Jerome Foster II is a prominent environmental activist, distinguished as the youngest-ever White House advisor in United States history, serving as a member of the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council within the Biden administration.
A fervent advocate for marginalized and working-class communities, Foster stands as a leading voice in the pursuit of social, economic, and environmental justice. Notably, he is a key organizer of Fridays for Future, spearheading weekly climate strikes at the White House gates for over 57 consecutive weeks.
Foster’s early engagement in public service is noteworthy. He commenced his journey as a congressional intern for U.S. Representative John Lewis at the remarkable age of 16. Additionally, at just 14 years old, he contributed to the Washington DC State Board of Education’s Advisory Council.
Beyond his domestic activism, Foster has played a pivotal role in organizing some of the largest climate marches in Washington, D.C.
His advocacy has transcended national borders, as evidenced by his speeches at the United Nations High Commission on Human Rights in April 2019 and the United Nations Youth Climate Summit in September 2019.
His international recognition surged following his orchestration of climate strikes outside the White House and his interview with Former Vice President Al Gore at the Atlanta Climate Reality Leadership Training in March 2019.
