Meet Lauren Simmons

Lauren Simmons made history as the youngest trader and only current full-time female trader at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Joining the NYSE at just 22 years old in 2017, she quickly became a trailblazer in the finance industry.

As only the second African American woman to hold such a position in the NYSE’s 228-year history, Simmons’s achievements shattered glass ceilings and inspired many.

Despite leaving Wall Street in December 2018, Simmons’s impact continued to resonate. Her inclusion in Ebony’s Power 100 list in 2018 and recognition as the 2018 Women of Impact by Politico underscored her influence and contributions to the industry.

Simmons’s nickname, the “Wolfette of Wall Street,” highlights her tenacity and resilience in a traditionally male-dominated field.

Her story serves as a beacon of empowerment for women and people of color aspiring to pursue careers in finance and beyond.

Beyond her groundbreaking career in finance, Simmons has diversified her endeavors, venturing into producing, writing, and other pursuits. Her multifaceted talents and achievements underscore her status as a role model and trailblazer in both the financial world and beyond.

Congratulations!!
