Meet Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani

Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani is the Head of Energy & Resources for FBN Merchant Bank, a subsidiary of Nigeria’s largest banking group, FBN Holdings Plc. Investment Banking professional, with strong origination, execution & advisory experience for private and public sector clients.

She is the Ad Hoc adviser on the Economic Advisory Board in the Office of the Vice President (OVP), working to support the Vice President, the President’s Special Adviser on Economy and Nigeria’s Economic Management Team (EMT) on a range of fiscal, monetary & development policy issues.

She is an African and global energy thought-leader with extensive experience building industry (esp. hydrocarbons, infrastructure, petrochemicals, power & renewables etc.) C-level relationships in Nigeria and across SSA.  Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani is very passionate about energy access and founder of InaTidé, an innovative off-grid renewable energy social impact initiative. She also has an excellent grasp of global macro-economic trends and experience negotiating the governance & regulatory landscape in energy and financial services across Africa.
She is commercially astute with a good head for both tactical and strategic issues affecting global emerging markets. Can confidently brief corporate, institutional, financial, multilateral and government clients on areas of expertise. Fluent in French and widely traveled. She is a recipient of the 2017 Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships from Zonta International  Also listed in the Choiseul 200 Young Economic Leaders in Africa under 40 in 2016 & 2017 (Choiseul Institute, France); In January 2016 was listed in pan-African law firm Centurion LLP’s Africa’s 10 to watch in Oil and Gas in 2016.  In April 2015 was awarded the Best Africa Oil and Gas Analyst of the year & Most Valuable Player on the Oil Patch Award prize by Energy & Corporate Africa
