MIPAD Africa Week is here

Today the 25th of September, The Most Influential People of African Descent(MIPAD) kicks off her event  at Columbia University with focus on #Africa and how she can take the lead. The first speaker, Alfa Demmellash, CEO, New Tide, USA  will open the Panel discussion with a lecture on the  “Future of Africa and how She is positioned”

Tonights events will be graced by 7 panelist 2 moderators from 7 different countries who are the best at what they do in persons of;

  • Tais Araujo, Actress & Activist, Brazil
  • Mr. Melvin Foote, President & CEO, Constituency for Africa, USA
  • Honorable Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Nigeria
  • Amb. Yvonne Khamati, DPR of Kenya Mission to UN offices Nairobi (UNON) and Director Foreign Service Kenya
  • Moderator: Abiola Afolayan, International Lawyer and Council Member, American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (Africa Council), Rome, Italy

The above panelists will futher discuss Africa’s Role in implementation of UN General Assembly Resolution 69/16  and how to facilitate and fast track the institutional link between UN & AU to collaborate on the International Decade and how AU & African Governments can engage Human Rights and Civil Society Organizations in the Diaspora to know the true state of the situation in the Diaspora.
