Dr. Nashlie Sephus is a leading figure in the tech industry, currently serving as the Principal Tech Evangelist for Amazon AI with a focus on fairness and bias identification at AWS AI.
Her journey into tech leadership began with her role as an Applied Scientist, where she led the Amazon Visual Search team in Atlanta. Under her guidance, the team successfully launched visual search for replacement parts on the Amazon Shopping app in June 2018, a groundbreaking achievement in the field.
Prior to her tenure at Amazon, Dr. Sephus served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Partpic, a startup based in Atlanta that was later acquired by Amazon.
Her academic background is equally impressive, having earned her Ph.D. from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2014. Her core research areas include digital signal processing, machine learning, and computer engineering.
