Nicole Pitter Patterson serves as a Board Member of Caribbean Women in Trade (CWIT), an organization dedicated to empowering and advancing women involved in international trade across the Caribbean.
Established in 2020, CWIT welcomes both women and men committed to supporting its mission of fostering a community that promotes the progress of Caribbean women in international trade.
Nicole brings over 20 years of experience as a senior international development advisor, having worked extensively in both the public and private sectors.
Her career has focused on women’s economic empowerment, women’s entrepreneurship, SME growth, and social enterprise development.
She has managed a diverse portfolio exceeding US$20 million, collaborating with agencies such as USAID, the United Nations, and UK FCDO, engaging public and private sector partners in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and the MENA region.
Nicole’s expertise extends to the creative industries, where she has spent over 12 years in interior design and fashion, specializing in the use of indigenous materials in Asia and Africa. She has mentored emerging African design brands, facilitated partnerships between institutions like Parsons New York and industry players in Africa and Asia, brokered design collaborations, and expanded sales markets through e-commerce and trade fairs.
Educationally, Nicole holds an M.A. in Regional Economic Development from Northeastern University, USA, complemented by a B.A. in Economics from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, and training in Residential Interior Design from the Art Institute, USA.
Currently, Nicole leads as Director of Trade, Caribbean Programs & Advisory Council at Women’s Economic Imperative, an international NGO. Her dedication to social inclusion and her extensive experience make her a valuable asset to CWIT and its mission.
