Sen. Quinton Lightbourne

Mr. Quinton C. Lightbourne, originally from Nassau, Bahamas, currently serves as the Alternate Executive Director for the Caribbean Constituency on the Board of Directors of the IDB, IDB Invest, and IDB Lab.

From 2021 to 2024, Mr. Lightbourne distinguished himself as a Senator and Chairman of The Bahamas Development Bank, demonstrating exceptional leadership. His strategic negotiations during this tenure resulted in the largest capitalization in the bank’s fifty-year history through a partnership with the African Export-Import Bank.

Mr. Lightbourne brings a wealth of experience from both public and private sectors. He has served as an Operations & Funds Analyst at Credit Suisse AG, Nassau Branch, and as an Investment Officer at The Bahamas Investment Authority in the Office of the Prime Minister.

Academically, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Accounting (Hons) from Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Financial Planner accredited by the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland. Additionally, he has earned a Certificate in International Trade Policy and Competition Law from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados.

Beyond his professional and academic achievements, Mr. Lightbourne is actively involved in renewable energy advocacy within the Caribbean region. He has contributed research and opinion columns to newspapers in The Bahamas, reflecting his commitment to sustainable energy initiatives.
