Meet Shanthi Annan

Shanthi Annan originates from Ghana, Nigeria, India and England. She was born and raised in the UK as the eldest of five daughters. In 2006, Shanthi graduated from Oxford University having read Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE), affectionately known as The Gentleman’s Degree.

She started her career in pursuit of the answer to the question ‘how do you start a business?’. Beginning as a Property Search Consultant in the property development arm of the fast-growing ChapmanBlack Group , she soon took on the role of Project Manager where she was responsible for running five concurrent residential construction projects successfully. By 2008 she had been transitioned over to the recruitment arm of the business, to act as Head of Operations. She exposed herself to all aspects of the business and was responsible for Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Process Improvement and Technology. Her last role was to act in the capacity of Chief Strategy Officer to develop a new managed service which today is going from strength to strength as Endorsed .

In 2012, Shanthi went in search of how to be a contribution in an African context. This compelled her to explore a variety of different business models which resulted in her founding Kinship of Kush ; an exciting new initiative to empower young Global Africans to freely shape the world whilst bringing together and strengthening the Global (African) Family.

Shanthi is presently, an Advisor to The Uncondemned  an important documentary which tells the story of three courageous women from Rwanda and the young lawyers who provoked a transformation in global justice for women everywhere. In 2017 she was appointed as an Advisor to the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust ; a new charity supported by Prince Harry as President, established in recognition of its Patron Her Majesty The Queen’s lifetime of service to the Commonwealth and her belief in young people as leaders for good in the world. It is against this backdrop that Shanthi works to raise her young family.

She is the mother of two sons Xavier (3 yrs) and Josiah (3 months), the wife of Kojo Annan and the Daughter In Law of Kofi Annan.

She’s currently organizing an event tagged the Mandela Mile in respect to the celebration of 100 years of Mandela. To be part of it sign up here.
