She is Yetunde Asika…

Yetunde Asika is the Co. Chair, Bandung Africa. She is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, an International Human Rights Lawyer, an Associate Partner with the Law firm Rose Chambers and she has been at the forefront of civil society work globally for years.

She is a leader in the efforts to promote democratic practice, economic advancement, equality, justice, and human rights.

Her current advocacy efforts are centred around governance in Nigeria where she sits on several boards including “Impact Lagos” and is also trustee for several NGOs. She is a “Justice for George Flyod” campaign Amb, Nigerian head of the civil society Coalition Against Racism and Conflict, she is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Section on Public Interest and Development Law, the Society of Black Lawyers UK, a former International Criminal Tribunal Legal Practitioner for the United Nations and a former U40Y Advisory Panel to the UK Home Secretary providing strategic recommendations to Members of Parliament on Government and Law.

Yetunde has spent a good portion of her life conducting research and advocacy to promote good governance, race and gender equality. She has advocated for changes in racially “biassed laws at the House of Commons, to the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU). To this end, she founded and is convener of the #AmendTheLaw movement.

Mrs. Asika is a social activist for justice and equality interested in Constitutional Law, Human and People’s Rights, Freedom and Responsibilities and Law & Governance.

She is desirous to influence social, economic and political change and she has spent more than two decades advocating for women and children.
