Ahmed Samir Saleh

Ahmed Samir Saleh is an Egyptian politician currently serving as the Minister of Industry and Trade.

Previously, he was a member of the Egyptian Parliament from 2016 to 2022 and also holds the position of Chairman of the Chilean-Egyptian Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Saleh earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1996. Before his political career, he served as the vice chairman of Canal for Plastic Company. He later joined the 6 October Investment Association, where he serves as a member of the board of trustees and president of the organization.

During his tenure in parliament, Saleh focused on economic development, advocating for several amendments to Egyptian industrial laws and playing a key role in the passage of the Unified Investment Law.

He notably chaired the House of Representatives’ committee on Economic Affairs until his appointment as Minister of Industry and Trade, succeeding Nevine Gamea.
