BET Awards Weekend,26th-27th June, 2021

The “BET AWARDS” 2021 will air live from Microsoft Theater at L.A. live on Sunday, June 27 at 8 pm  ET/ PT ON Black Entertainment Television.


The black culture’s biggest night, the “BET AWARDS,” continues its reign in its twenty-first year as the ultimate platform to showcase the best, brightest, and most beautiful aspects of the Black experience – celebrating Black music’s present and future, and elevating the culture and being a driving force for social change.


Following last year’s groundbreaking virtual awards show, the “BET AWARDS” returns this year with a live show audience.  BET will work closely with Los Angeles County to support community vaccination efforts and ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols.


BET recognizes artists, entertainers, and athletes across 21 categories with the “BET Awards” 2021 nominations. The nominations are selected by BET’s Voting Academy, which is composed of fans and an esteemed group of entertainment professionals in the fields of television, film, music, social media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, and creative arts. In consistent with this, MIPAD supports the 2021 UN Year of Creative Economy & AU Year of the Arts, Culture, and Heritage.


In line with Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards Weekend June 27-28, 2021,  MIPAD will be hosting a virtual panel event on Wednesday 30, 2021 titled ‘Music Industry and the Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic-Exploring New Revenue & Investment Models’ Top Executives, Policy Actors & Creatives across Diaspora and Inside Africa will make special guest appearances to discuss this topic and forge the way forward in the entertainment industry. The United Nations declared the years 2015 – 2024 as the International Decade for People of African Descent (IDPAD)worldwide. In line with the 1st pillar of the decade; RECOGNITION, MIPAD publishes a global 100 list that identifies high achievers of African descent worldwide pairing those across the Diaspora with their counterparts inside Africa across four categories and various verticals.


And, in support of the United Nations 2021 International Year of Creative Economy, we will be releasing the 100 Most Influential Creatives Global Edition 2021 and hosting a series of events, worldwide.
