Dr. Cynthia Umezulike is the President, Global Human Rights Centre leading the advancement of rights-based environmental policy making, gender responsive action to address climate change and best practice for climate adaption and mitigation.

She is qualified human rights barrister and internationally recognised climate sustainability activist campaigning for a human rights-based gender responsive climate action to reduce gender inequality, wage gap vulnerability and to end violence against women.

Dr Umezulike is also the founder and Director of the International Conference on Human Rights, Sustainability and Climate Change and lecturer in law at the University of Buckingham where she developed an International Research Centre and Fashion, Environment and the Law Program.

She is the Co-chair of Hon Justice Innocent Umezulike Foundation and has implemented over 30 human rights based programs with impact on the frontiers of quality education, legal research, providing tools to tackle the demands of learning and economic empowerment for the most vulnerable in local communities through charitable and humanitarian missions in West Africa.

She has a bachelor’s degree in law, a Master Degree in Human Rights Law from Queen Mary University of London, a Masters Degree in International Law and Criminal Justice from the University of East London.

Dr Umezulike has also has a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in International Human Rights Law from Birkbeck, University of London. Dr. Umezulike provides expert human rights due diligence consultation and advisory technical support to governments, businesses, NGO’s and international organisations.

This gender and women’s rights specialist is committed to advancing inter-generational equity and gender equality, providing tools to standardise gender based violence prevention into policy and social development programs.
