Dr. Jumoke Oduwole MFR serves as Special Adviser to the President of Nigeria on Ease of Doing Business and Investment.

Since July 2016, she has been the Pioneer Secretary of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), overseeing the development and implementation of over 180 reforms aimed at enhancing the business climate for MSMEs and large enterprises.

During her tenure, Nigeria achieved an unprecedented advancement of 39 places in the World Bank’s Doing Business rankings and was twice recognized as one of the top ten reformed economies globally within three years.

Dr. Oduwole has played pivotal roles in various specialized reform committees within the federal government, including the National AfCFTA Committee and the Tax Policy Reform Committee. She chaired the Technical Working Team on Legislative Imperatives for the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2021-2025 and was instrumental in establishing the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN).

In 2022, she was appointed as a Governance Advisor to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Governance Lab and has received several accolades, including the national honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).

She holds an LL.B from the University of Lagos and an LL.M from Cambridge University. She earned a JSM and JSD from Stanford Law School and is a qualified Nigerian lawyer. She is currently a Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government Senior Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School.

Additionally, Dr. Oduwole is affiliated with the Faculty of Law at the University of Lagos, where she teaches and conducts research in international economic law. Previously, she held the Prince Claus Chair in development and equity at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, The Netherlands. Prior to her academic career, Jumoke worked in investment and corporate banking.
