He is Cecil Peters…

Cecil Peters (He/Him) earned his MSc in Information Systems from Canterbury Christchurch University and embarked on a distinguished career in banking technology.

Joining J.P. Morgan Chase in 2018, he assumed leadership of a software engineering function with a focus on Cybersecurity. However, amidst the pandemic, Cecil redirected his professional trajectory, dedicating himself full-time to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across J.P. Morgan’s EMEA business, spanning 36 countries and 30,000 employees.

In his current role, Cecil spearheads a comprehensive strategy addressing Disability, Gender, Ethnicity, Sexual Orientation, and Military Veterans within the region. Under his guidance, his team has achieved significant milestones in enhancing diverse representation while championing the value of differences both within and beyond the organization.

He takes great pride in his team’s efforts to foster a more inclusive environment within the firm.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, he serves as a non-executive director of J.P. Morgan Jersey Trust Company Limited and lends his expertise to the education advisory board of The Sutton Trust, a leading social mobility charity. Additionally, he contributes to the advisory board of EthicalWeb.AI, a pioneering ethical tech company.

In recognition of his unwavering commitment to DEI, Cecil was honored with the title of Head of Diversity of the Year at the Burberry British Diversity Awards in March 2023. Furthermore, his team’s outstanding achievements have garnered nominations for DEI Team of the Year on multiple occasions.

Cecil also actively participates as a member of the judging panel for The Powerlist and the Black British Business Awards, further amplifying his impact in advancing diversity and inclusion across various sectors.
