Lekan Olawoye is the visionary Founder and CEO of Black Professionals in Tech Network (BPTN), the largest Black tech and business community in North America.

Recognized for his impactful leadership, Lekan was honored as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2021, solidifying his reputation as a thought leader in Black tech. Committed to bridging the network gap facing Black professionals, Lekan spearheaded BFUTR, the largest Black professional summit in North America.

In February 2022, he and his team launched Obsidi by BPTN, an innovative networking platform designed to empower Black professionals with enhanced opportunities to advance their careers.

Prior to establishing BPTN, Lekan served as the Lead Executive of Talent Development at MaRs Discovery District, Toronto, where he played a pivotal role in guiding professionals to thrive in rapidly evolving environments within high-growth companies.

She also served as the Executive Director of For Youth Initiative, Toronto, where he focused on policy and strategic development. In 2014, Lekan served as the Chair of the Premier’s Council on Youth Opportunities for the Ontario government.

Lekan holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree specializing in non-profit management from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from Ryerson University.

His dedication to community service is evident through his volunteer work with organizations such as the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI), the Telus Foundation, and the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.
