Angelle B. Kwemo is the President & CEO of AstrategiK Group, LLC.
She is also a Founder & President of Believe in Africa and renowned as a businesswoman, strategist, philanthropist, author, and speaker, specializing in international trade advisory and strategic services for organizations looking to engage with Africa and emerging markets.
Originally from Cameroon, Angelle began her career at Bestaux Law Firm in France before assuming roles such as Chief of the Maritime Claims and Disputes Department in Douala, Cameroon, and later as General Counsel for Bollore Technology Group and Geodis Overseas.
Her tenure in the U.S. Congress as Legislative Counsel for two House Representatives, including Rep. Bobby L. Rush, a Senior Member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, spanned seven years. Angelle played a pivotal role in shaping U.S. policy on global economic issues and was instrumental in advancing legislation to enhance U.S.-Africa trade relations, culminating in the historic African Leaders Summit under President Barack Obama.
Angelle Kwemo’s exemplary contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the DC Government’s Public Service Award, commendations from Maryland’s Governor Martin O’Malley, and the President Biden Lifetime Achievement Award. She authored the book “Against All Odds: How to Stay On Top Of the Game” and is a frequent contributor to international publications such as Forbes Afrique, Africa Report, Le Point, and has appeared on major news networks including Voice of America TV (VOA), BBC, France 2 TV, TV 5 TV, France 24 TV, Africa 24 TV, Comcast TV, and China Daily.
Angelle has served on the advisory board of the Corporate Council on Africa Small Business Initiative, the Democratic Republic of Congo Investment Fund, and the Selection Committee of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program. As a committed advocate and philanthropist, she founded Believe In Africa to promote the role of the African private sector in Africa’s transformation and empower women and youth.
Her initiatives include hosting the first African Women in Agriculture Congress, leading to the creation of the African Women in Agriculture and Art (AWAA) platform, which supports rural women across Africa in transitioning from subsistence to commercial farming and handicraft. To date, she has trained women in Central African Republic, Cameroon, Morocco, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, and registered nearly 600,000 women in rural areas across 22 African countries.
Angelle holds a Bachelor’s in Law and an LLM degree in Economic Activity Law from the University of Rouen in France, as well as an LLM degree in International Business Transactions and Human Rights Law from Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, D.C.
