Introducing Feven Solomon

Feven Solomon currently serves as a Senior Advisor for Public Engagement in President Biden’s White House Office of Public Engagement.

As an Eritrean American, Feven previously made history as the first and youngest Black woman to serve as Deputy Executive Director to the 57 members of the Congressional Black Caucus in both chambers of the United States Congress.

In this capacity, she acted as a senior advisor to Chairman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04), offering legislative and strategic counsel to CBC Members and senior Capitol Hill staffers. Feven also spearheaded the development and execution of the CBC’s outreach and engagement strategy with key government officials, business leaders, and advocacy stakeholders.

Feven boasts over a decade of experience as a senior policy and political professional across federal, state, and local levels. She is deeply committed, both professionally and personally, to making a meaningful impact within the Black community, both domestically and globally.

Prior to her role at the Congressional Black Caucus, Feven served as a policy advisor to a frontline member of the House Democratic Caucus, where she played a pivotal role in leading, planning, and advancing legislative priorities on the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade.

She played a key role in establishing the Congressional Black Caucus Census 2020 Taskforce and the First 100 Days Taskforce. Before making her mark in Washington, DC, Feven blazed trails in the State of Nevada as the political advisor to former Nevada State Senate Majority Leader, now Attorney General, Aaron D. Ford.

Additionally, she served as a political strategist to the Southern Nevada Black Elected Officials, specializing in implementing outreach plans tailored to build a winning coalition of Black voters, particularly among millennial populations.

Feven takes immense pride in her heritage as the daughter of Eritrean immigrants who instilled in her the values of hard work and dedication to community service.

Their sacrifices serve as her inspiration to be a trailblazer and give back through public service. Feven earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing and her Master of Public Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She remains a proud Eritrean American and a native of Las Vegas, Nevada.
