Tyla’s journey to success began with the release of her debut single, “Getting Late,” featuring Kooldrink, in 2019. The track garnered significant attention domestically, leading to her signing with Epic Records in 2021.
Her breakthrough came with the release of her single “Water” in 2023, which catapulted her to international fame.
The song achieved remarkable success, entering the top ten charts in sixteen countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States. Notably, “Water” marked a historic moment as the first song by a South African soloist to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 in over five decades.

Following the success of “Water,” Tyla released her self-titled debut album in 2024, which received critical acclaim and attained moderate commercial success. The album reached the top 25 charts in six countries, including the United States.
