
Uche Okugo holds a multifaceted role at the Economic Development Office of the City of Brampton, where he serves as the Lead on Investment Attraction from Africa and the Caribbean.
His professional engagements are complemented by active community leadership roles, reflecting his commitment to civic and social development.
He is a valued member of the Brampton Mayor’s Black Advisory Council, contributing insights and initiatives to benefit the local community.
Uche has also served as President of the City of Brampton Toastmasters Club, fostering public speaking and leadership skills among members.
His tenure as immediate past President of the Rotary Club of Brampton focused on Community Economic Development, and he hosted distinguished guests such as the US and French Ambassadors to Canada.
In 2026, he is set to assume the role of District Governor for Rotary International District 7080, overseeing 45 Rotary clubs and approximately 1,300 Rotarians. This leadership position underscores his dedication to promoting service and philanthropy within the community.
As a Social Entrepreneur, Uche is passionate about reshaping community engagement and empowering the Black community in Canada.
He founded and currently presides over the Network of Nigerians in Canada (NNC), advocating for cultural integration and mutual support among Nigerians living in Canada. Additionally, he plays a pivotal role as a Core Member of the International Student Experience pilot program in collaboration with Sheridan College and the Region of Peel.
Uche’s educational journey is equally impressive, encompassing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, a Certificate in Leadership & Strategy, a Diploma in Financial Trading & Investment, and ongoing studies towards becoming a Certified Economic Developer at the University of Waterloo.
Outside of his professional and community commitments, Uche is an Evangelist with the Anglican Church, emphasizing his faith and spiritual involvement. He is happily married and a proud father to his son, rounding out his profile as a dedicated family man and community leader.
