Enoh T. Ebong serves as the Director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), having been nominated by President Biden and confirmed by unanimous consent of the U.S. Senate.
In her role, Ms. Ebong leads USTDA’s efforts to promote sustainable and clean infrastructure development, fostering economic growth in emerging economies while supporting U.S. jobs through the export of American goods and services.
Ms. Ebong’s career at USTDA began with her appointment to various roles within the agency, where she advanced through the ranks as a career civil servant. Her previous positions include serving as General Counsel and as Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the agency’s international program development and execution, as well as managing all agency operations.
In March 2023, President Biden appointed her as a Federal government member on the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, underscoring her commitment to public service and policy development.
Beyond her government service, Ms. Ebong has diverse professional experience, including her role as Head of Strategic Partnerships at the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream in the nonprofit sector. Here, she focused on expanding access to education, health, financial empowerment, and entrepreneurship through strategic partnerships.
Prior to her tenure at USTDA and nonprofit work, Ms. Ebong practiced law at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. in Boston, specializing in offerings, financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance for public and private companies.
She has contributed her leadership to various boards and advisory roles, including the Friends of the National Zoo, the Washington Foreign Law Society, and Lawyers of Color, where she was recognized in its 4th Annual Power List in 2015. She also served as a Global Faculty Lead for Atlas Service Corps’ Global Leadership Lab.
Educationally, Ms. Ebong holds a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, a Master of Arts in Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts in History with honors from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She is a member of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bar.
