Evelyn Namara is a Ugandan technology entrepreneur who is the founder of Vouch Digital, a technology start-up using data and digital payments to improve conditional and unconditional cash-based programs in Uganda and beyond. She is a finalist in the 2018 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards.
Evelyn was named Outstanding Woman in Innovation in 2017 MTN Innovation Awards. Evelyn is passionate about Technology for Development (ICT4D), Youth and Entrepreneurship as well as empowering women in technology. Evelyn is an Anita Borg ABIE Change Agent Award winner, 2012 recognized for her role in empowering women and girls in technology.
She has also served on the Anita Borg Change Agent Awards committee for 3 years.
Evelyn is an Acumen East Africa fellow as well as an IDEX fellow and spent six months in India as part of the fellowship program working for an education technology social enterprise start-up building a chain of after-school learning centers across Bangalore and Kolkata.
