Meet Mimi Kalinda

Mimi Kalinda is the Group CEO and Co-founder of Africa Communications Media Group, a pan African public relations and communications agency headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa with offices in Kigali, Rwanda; Harare, Zimbabwe; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire.

One of the most satisfying accomplishments of Mimi’s career is the part she played in raising $51 million for the African Union Ebola campaign.

Describing herself as a narrative shaper, Mimi has led workshops on Storytelling and Narrative in Leadership for the Obama Foundation Leaders: Africa program, as well as for the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business: Women in Business Conference, and the Africa Trade and Investment Global Summit 2018 in Washington, DC.

Mimi is the Re-branding Africa Champion for Africa 2.0 and she was a finalist for the International African Woman of the Year Award at the Women4Africa Awards 2016. She was also featured in 2018 as a Forbes Afrique Top 40 Under 40 leader in the communications industry and a finalist of this year’s Standard Bank Top Women Awards (2019) in the Entrepreneur of the Year category. She is an Archbishop Tutu Leadership Program Fellow.

Mimi’s first book, Talking to Africa: Considering Culture in Communications for a Complex Continent, was released in January 2017. She is a graduate of New York University.
