MY ROOTS IN AFRICA

My Roots in Africa Project is a unique project designed by the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD), in support of the Great Green Wall Initiative, to further close the gaps between Africa and its global diaspora by enabling people of African descent order a tree planted, named or gifted in honor of themselves or a loved one on African soil so they can say “I literally have roots in Africa.”

For every tree planted, jobs are created and emissions reduced, getting Africa closer to achievement of UN sustainable development goals before 2030. This extraordinary initiative fights poverty and hunger, builds local resilience to climate change, improves health and well-being, boosts economic opportunities and much more.

“I have reserved a tree to be planted in Africa, so I can say “I literally have roots in Africa.”
