He is Dr.Succès Masra

Dr. Succès Masra is the President of Les Transformateurs (“The Transformers” in English), a major opposition political party in Chad.

He is a former Senior Economist at the African Development Bank (AfDB), and a former Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young Global Limited and BNP Paribas Bank Group (Paris, France).

As Chad’s political, economic and social situation was rapidly eroding, Dr. Masra “shocked the world” by resigning from his high-level position at the AfDB to return to Chad. On April 29, 2018, he launched a grassroots political movement, “The Transformers” through which he strives to create a more just, equitable, inclusive, and democratic society for all the people of Chad.

“The Transformers” has quickly become the most important opposition political party with a real chance of gaining power in future democratic presidential elections in the country.

Dr. Masra was unfairly excluded from the presidential elections in April 2021 through a targeted constitutional amendment known as the “Anti-Masra” amendment that raised the minimum age to stand in presidential elections from 35 to 40.

To build political party-civil society solutions to governance issues in Chad, Dr. Masra co-founded the “Coordination of Citizens Actions”, commonly known as (CCA “Wakit Tamma”), the largest coalition platform of opposition parties and civil society organizations in the country.

To foster innovative and collaborative Pan-African solutions to democratic challenges facing the continent, Dr. Masra co-created the Intra-African Progressive Forces.

Dr. Masra earned a PhD in Economics from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University looking at “Africa facing the challenges of the Post Oil Economy”. In addition, he graduated in Finance and Strategy from the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (commonly known as “Sciences Po”), on the prestigious Émile Boutmy Scholarship, awarded to the very best international students from outside the European Union.

He also earned graduate degrees in Management from the Lille Catholic University, in Leadership for the 21st Century from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and Governance from the University of Oxford. Moreover, Dr. Masra was a Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellow and served as a mentor to many Mandela Washington Fellows.

Good job!!
