
Joseph Opeyemi Owolabi is the Board Chairman of the Australian Sickle Cell Advocacy (ASCA). He served as Global Council member of the ACCA, in UK from 2015-2018, and as a delegate to the ACCA International Assembly from 2014-2015.
He possess excellent presentation skills and he is widely sought global speaker. His audience includes company executives, directors and Boards. He has trained executives from over 500 companies and directors from over 200 companies across four continents.
He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCCA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He holds a Masters in Leadership and Innovation from York St John University; and Executive Education in Environmental Sustainability Leadership at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in U.S.A.
He spearheaded the project that metamorphosed to be the annual Nigerian Capital Market Sustainability Conference (hosted by: EY, Nigerian Stock Exchange and GRI) which attracted over 120 CEOs and other senior executives in its maiden edition. He was on a Board (with three Government Ministers) that pioneered the issuance of Sovereign Green Bonds in emerging markets.
Joseph actively seeks collaboration with regulators, investors and other stakeholders to promote transparent financial (IFRS) and non-financial (sustainability and integrated reporting) reporting and disclosures. He assist organisations (spread across: private and public sectors as well as government business entities) in raising funds on global capital markets and reporting in (or migrating from local GAAP to) IFRS.
