
Monique Rodrigues do Prado is a Human rights Defender and Researcher & Lawyer. On-Demand Fellow of African Descendant Social Entrepreneurship (2023). Former United Nations fellow (2022). Selected one of the Young Leaders of Latin America by the American program YLAI (2021).
As a master’s degree student of Humanities and human rights at the biggest University of Brazil – Universidade de São Paulo – she is studying love as a guide of society based on the black radial thoughts.
As a lawyer at Educafro, she promotes public policies and affirmative actions for black people to achieve social justice. As a communicator, she has essays published in the major newspaper in Brazil approaching the intersectionality of gender, race, and class.
She is also a former fellow of the African Descendant Social Entrepreneurship (2023) and United Nations African Descendent Programme (2022).
Besides, she was selected by the Young Leader of American Initiative program in 2020/21 as one of the Young Leaders of Latin America because of the project Afronta Coletivo where we work to empower black women. In fact, Afronta Coletivo and “Lab afetos” (lab affections), are both initiatives of gathering black people to have a safe space to take care of each other and empower them together by their strengths and working on their weaknesses.
